Kornati National Park

The Kornati National Park covers an area of about 217 km2 and includes 89 islands, islets and rocks. Along with the relatively large number of islands, the park also covers a continental section, which amounts to 1/4 of its entire area.

The incredible combination of nature and man, surviving at Kornati for over a thousand years and reflected in the modest but impressive buildings (ports, apartments, stone walls, olive trees, piers, fortress, castle, churches, salt-works, ruins, etc.) is certainly a valuable addition to the Kornati National Park.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is the largest of the eight national parks in Croatia (294.82 km2). The Plitvice Lakes were proclaimed a national park in 1949, making it the oldest national park in Croatia as well. In 1979, the Plitvice Lakes National Park was included in UNESCO's World Heritage List.

One of the first explorers of the natural phenomenon, academician Ivo Pevalek, said back in 1937: "Water, lakes, waterfalls and forest you can find anywhere, but the Plitvice Lakes are unique." You need to see them!

Faust Vrančić Memorial Centre

The brilliance of Faust Vrančić, born in Šibenik in 1551, made him stand out among the greatest minds of the Renaissance. His work proves that he was born long before it would be possible to realize his ideas.

He is the author of a quintlingual dictionary, "Dictionary of the five most noble European languages" (Dictionarium quinque nobilissimarum Europae linguarum, latinae, italicae, germanicae, dalmaticae et ungaricae) - not only the first dictionary of the Croatian language, but the first dictionary of the Hungarian language as well.
In his work Machinae Novae, envisioned as a manual, Vrančić described 56 diverse devices and technical solutions methodologically arranged in order to demonstrate the development from already known projects to his new and original projects.

In Prvić Luka, you can find the Faust Vrančić Memorial Centre, where visitors can learn about the life and work of this genius, see the collection of models of his inventions, as well as his most important writings.
